ancient dog derp

Just goes to show you dogs have been perfecting that derp de derp look for centuries. This particular champ graces a 4th century BC Greek terracotta pyxis, a style of container usually in the form of a round lidded box to hold cosmetics and little things.  This box is just over 2" high and just under 3" diameter, a good size for jewelry or moisturizer.  The dog is painted in red on a black background - in short, it's a piece of classic Greek red-figure pottery, made for a cheerful daily use.
